Affiliated Squad
Affiliate Membership is intended for swimmers who do not routinely train with Trojan SC but who compete in Swim England registered pool and open water competitions. To compete at most events, entrants are required to hold Swim England membership which can only be achieved on a permanent basis through membership of a Swim England registered club. Though Temporary Swim England Membership is available, this often works out more expensive for those completing more than 2-3 times per year.
What does Affiliate Membership provide?
Swim England membership through SD Trojan SC
Ability to compete as SD Trojan at local, regional and national competitions.
Access to training sets for swimmers to complete in their own training time.
Access to Swim England South East Region competitions.
Skills Squad
The skills squad is open to anyone that is able to complete 100m uninterupted swimming in less than 2min45s. Many swimmers came to this squad as front crawl only swimmers and have progressed to all four strokes and even competed at local and regional competitions.
The squad benefits from our coach’s vast experience of teaching, coaching and competing. Want to develop your front crawl technique for pool, open water and triathlon? Always wanted to learn butterfly or racing starts and tumble turns? Trojans has a place for you.
Develop skills and fitness in a fun and supportive club environment. Skills squad swimmers can train on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Competitive Squad
The competitive squad is for swimmers who are able to complete a full 1hr training session based around different pace work and distances. Swimmers are allocated a lane by the coach based on the pace and swim-rest time of the lane to ensure everyone trains with similar standard swimmers so that everyone gets the most out of their pool time.
Competitive Squad swimmers can train in any of the five pool sessions; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
While not all members of the squad actively compete in pool competitions, participation in the annual County Masters Championships is strongly encouraged - we’ve come second in the county three years running!
